From Monday 20 January 2020, resurfacing work begins on the hill section of Kings Ash Road in Paignton.
The work, which will be carried out by Cormac Contracting on behalf of Torbay Council and will cost around £200,000, will take five days.
To carry out the works the road will be closed from Luscombe Road to Whitebeam Close. Traffic will be diverted Paignton bound to use Marldon Road down to the main Torquay Road; Hyde Road, Totnes Road to Tweenaway Lights and also vice versa Torquay bound.
Residents have also be informed in writing and pre-warning signs will be placed around the area.
Councillor Mike Morey, Cabinet Member for Infastructure, Environment and Culture for Torbay Council, said: “As part of our continuous commitment to structural maintenance across the Bay, these works are necessary and need to be carried out. We are aware these works will be disruptive, so we ask anyone who needs to use this area during this time to look at taking a different route. Local schools and businesses are being notified and we will work with our contractor to minimise the disruption as much as possible.”
