Despite best efforts from event organisers, there has not been enough funding secured to stage a Grinagog Festival during 2019 to the scale of previous years’ productions.

Due to budget cuts, Torbay Council is unable to fund Grinagog Festival and alternative funding to the sum of £25k had to be raised to guarantee the three day event could be held again in the grounds of Torre Abbey Museum.

Cllr Nicole Amil, Executive Lead for Tourism, Culture and Harbours said: “It is with much regret that we are not in a position to stage a full Grinagog Festival in 2019. We know many people have supported and enjoyed the festival, and with this in mind we are aiming to be back in 2020. The Council is working with event organisers to see whether Grinagog style events could be staged in Torbay during the summer.”

The concept of the Grinagog Festival is to showcase the best local music, artistic and creative talents and to link it to some of the best visiting music talent from around the UK and the world. It’s extensive and diverse programme of music genres, arts and activities attracted more than 4,000 people during the two previous successful events held in 2017 and 2018.
