GLASS ETCHING WORKSHOP

Have you got a passion for or experience in glass etching? If so, Torre Abbey is hosting the perfect event for you!

On Wednesday 26 October, from 10am until 1pm, Torre Abbey is holding a glass etching workshop.

Executive Lead for Tourism, Culture and Harbours, Cllr Nicole Amil, said: “This is a great event where you can create your own art and have the opportunity to visit this outstanding exhibition.”

During the workshop, you will be inspired by the symmetry patterns of William de Morgan to create your own stencil for your glass etching. During the three hour session, you will get the opportunity to complete a bigger piece of work and, if time allows it, a second smaller piece. You will get the chance to choose either a coaster or a glass vase/jar for your smaller piece of work.

The etching workshop is best suited for individuals that have experience in etching and especially for those that have attended the Etching for Beginners workshop. Although tools are available for you to use on the day, you will need to bring a sharp pencil, a ruler, a protractor, an apron and plenty of enthusiasm!

For only £20 for the session, you get to take part in the workshop and you also get entry to see the William de Morgan exhibition, this includes entry to the house and gardens and refreshments.
