Torbay Council has published its draft Efficiency Plan. Now it wants to hear views on plans to transform the way the council delivers services and strengthens the way it engages with residents, business and partners to improve outcomes for the community.
The Plan sets out a number of potential changes until 2020 and beyond, which aim to give the council financial stability and to ensure the place of Torbay continues to flourish.
The Efficiency Plan shows how the Transformation Programme will be used to meet the ambitions of the council to create a prosperous and healthy Torbay whilst also meeting the challenges of reduced central Government funding and the needs of our communities. It describes a number of projects which are in the early stages of development with savings or new incomes identified being indicative at this stage.
Torbay Council is seeking views on how it can best work in partnership to deliver these projects and how it can use its resources to best effect. Also being welcomed are other suggestions for transforming services and the place of Torbay through reducing demand for high cost services and taking a joined up approach to create a healthy and prosperous Bay.
As each project develops through the Transformation Programme, appropriate formal consultation will be undertaken ahead of any decisions being made.
The draft Efficiency Plan can be seen at www.torbay.gov.uk/transformingtorbay. ?Feedback can be made by emailing transformation@torbay.gov.uk by 7 September 2016.
