Torre Abbey Historic House and Gardens is hosting a ‘Museums at Night’ from Thursday 12 May to Saturday 14 May.
Bring the family to enjoy magical storytelling by Isabella Necessity and her Story Bicycle; or drawing at dusk – a free art workshop for adults which takes place throughout the house and gardens.
There will be free entry to the house between 5.15pm and 9pm on Thursday 12 May or for something completely different you can camp in the grounds of Torre Abbey on Saturday night. This can be booked online or over the phone for only £25 for the whole family!.
Culture and Events Manager, Phil Black, said: “This is yet another exciting event for Torre Abbey, opening the doors for the local community. Museums at Night gives us the chance to put on a few really different activities for all ages – it is not every day you get the chance to camp in the grounds of an 800 year old building!
“The whole of Torre Abbey House, Galleries and Gardens is now free to under 18s. Our programme is becoming more varied and will be developed further over the coming years – so watch this space.”
Torre Abbey Historic House and Gardens has also been shortlisted to secure a spectacular event as part of the next Connect! Museums at Night festival in October.
We only have until this Saturday so PLEASE VOTE FOR TORRE ABBEY! If enough votes are achieved Aowen Jin, an artist who makes images that glow under UV light, will undertake an event at the Abbey, the likes of which have never been seen in Torbay. The public vote will be open for two weeks from 11am on Friday 29 April and closes on Saturday 14 May.
For further information on how to vote go to Museums at Night http://museumsatnight.org.uk/aowen-jin/#.VxYfRDYrInU or visit Torre Abbey Historic House and Gardens at torre-abbey.org.uk
