The annual Civic Church Service will take place on Sunday 25 October at The Church of St Mary the Virgin in St Marychurch, Torquay.
Father Robert Ward, the Chairman’s Chaplain, will be taking the service which will include traditional hymns and readings. The Venerable Douglas Dettmer, Archdeacon of Totnes, will be leading with the first sermon.
Everyone is welcome and guests are asked to take their seats at 2.45pm for a 3pm start.
This year, the service is in support of the Chairman’s Torbay Hospital League of Friends, and the Rotary Club of Torquay.
Torbay Council’s Chairman, Cllr Ray Hill, said: “The annual church service is a wonderful opportunity to experience a special and unique service. You are very welcome to come along and enjoy this event and stay for refreshments following the service.”
Past Mayors and Chairmen, and dignitaries from other local authorities, will be attending. Dress should be smart, including Insignia, and hats are optional for ladies.
It is recommended that attendees use the Chilcott Close or Hampton Avenue car parks nearby.
