On Wednesday 20 May, the crew of the Plymouth-based HMS Torbay will be granted Honorary Freedom of Torbay under the Honorary Freedom of Boroughs Act 1885.

There will be a ceremonial service at 10am outside Torquay Town Hall, which will give, by tradition, the submarine’s crew the right and honour to march through the Borough bearing arms. A parade, led by a HM Royal Marine band, through Torquay Town Centre will also be taking place and will commence at 10.30am.

The parade route will be from the Town Hall, through Union Street and Fleet Walk turning right at the Strand then on to the War Memorial at Princess Gardens.
