Torbay Mayor, Gordon Oliver, will be presenting organisations with cheques at a ceremony in the Palace Hotel, Torquay on Thursday 12 March 2015.
They will each receive a share of the from the Torbay Mayor's Fund, which was set up after Mayor Gordon Oliver pledged half his annual salary in each year of his four year term of office to give one off support to local groups, organisations and individuals.
Grants of up to £1000 will be allocated to successful applicants to help them drive forward projects in their community.
Torbay’s Mayor said: "Local groups do so much for their communities and I am proud to be able to support these hard working and committed people as well as the people they serve.
“I am pleased that there were so many worthwhile applicants for the Mayor’s Fund, which recognises the enormous contribution that local groups make to our community. I look forward to presenting them with their grants and seeing how their projects progress throughout the year.
“I would like to thank Councillors Nicole Amil, Jackie Stockman and Bobbie Davies for their support as part of the committee.”
The presentation evening at The Palace Hotel, Torquay will start at 6.30pm on Thursday 12 March 2015.
