Torbay’s Mayor Gordon Oliver is once again making his annual pledge of giving half of his salary to charitable groups. In total 136 grants totalling £86,500 have been handed out to organisations from the Torbay Mayor’s Fund.
Grants of up to £1,000 will be allocated to winning projects that will be progressed in the following 12 months, with priority going to organisations and individuals based and operating in Torbay.
Torbay Mayor, Gordon Oliver, said: “This pledge is part of my election promise, which I have committed to every year since being elected Mayor. This Fund is in place to help promote and support the voluntary organisations in Torbay, who work hard to help local people and positively impact their community.”
Community and voluntary sector organisations or individuals, who wish to apply, need to complete an application form which includes the full criteria.
If you represent a charity and are interested in applying you can email mayorsfund@torbay.gov.uk or write to the Torbay Mayor’s Fund, from Monday 15 December, to receive a copy of the application form to complete.
