Fireworks to celebrate end of season for wheel

To celebrate the final operational day of the English Riviera Observation Wheel this year, Mellors Group, operators of the wheel, will be holding a free firework display for the public on Sunday 26 October at 6pm.

To celebrate the final operational day of the English Riviera Observation Wheel this year, Mellors Group, operators of the wheel, will be holding a free firework display for the public on Sunday 26 October at 6pm.

The fireworks will be launched from Haldon Pier, Torquay Harbour. Spectators are invited to come and watch the display from the observation wheel site at Princess Gardens in Torquay.

Torbay’s Mayor Gordon Oliver said: “I’d like to thank the Mellors Group for providing a free firework display again this year. We really enjoy hosting the wheel and it’s proved extremely popular for the third year running. It really is a wonderful addition to the many fantastic attractions that Torbay has to offer.”

James Mellors, Director said: “The Mellors Group would like to say a big thank you to the people of Torbay. We’ve really enjoyed our third-year stay everyone has once again made us feel so very welcome.

“As a small gesture of our thanks, we would like to invite the public and all involved to come and enjoy the display with us at 6pm on Sunday 26 October by the observation wheel on what will be our final operational day in Torquay.

“Make sure you get to Princess Gardens early, as it was very popular last year. We look forward to welcoming you all on the day.”
