The Torbay Singers are delighted to present the thrilling sounds of choir, brass and percussion in music spanning the sixteenth to the twentieth centuries. Gabrieli's magnificent In Ecclesiis contrasts different groups of singers and brass and was designed for the grand spaces of St Mark's in Venice. Purcell's stately Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary mingles heartfelt grief with royal ceremony. Bruckner's motets scale the heights of emotion. John Rutter's joyful Gloria is one of his most popular works, uplifting and energetic by turns. Join the Torbay Singers and an invited brass ensemble for an evening of music brimming with joy and majesty.
