Once upon a time, in a Kingdom far away there was a kind and noble King called Leopold who ruled with his beloved and beautiful wide Queen Eva. Leopold’s rule was wise and just, the people were happy and the land was peaceful and prosperous. The Queen was expecting their first child and she accidentally pricks her finger on a rose thorn. She feels that this is an omen and a sign that her future child will have lips as red a blood and skin as white as snow. She vows that If she has a girl she will call her Snow White. She does indeed give birth to a lovely baby girl but tragically Queen Eva died shortly after. Her father, named the child Snow White and educated her himself so she could rule the kingdom someday.

After some years King Leopold felt that the girl needed a mother, so he searched around and eventually married again. His new wife was called Ravenna and was said to be the most beautiful woman on Earth. What King Leopold didn’t realise was that Ravenna was really a very old witch who transformed herself into a beautiful woman by means of a magic mirror which she consulted in secret. She also controlled a fierce group of Ravens but again kept this a secret from the King.

After the King married again things started to change. The weather became colder and the people found it harder to produced food. The nearby wild forest became darker and invaded with wolves and a huge number of Ravens. Concerned about this, King Leopold decided have a look for himself. He set out into the forest but never returned.
