This year is our 65th festival and we have more variety, more free events and 50% discount on chargeable events for people who are on benefits.

Dawlish Arts Festival was founded in 1953 by Jim Holman whose vision was to create a festival designed to bring arts in all its many forms for the people of Dawlish to enjoy.

Now a registered charity, the objects are to promote understanding and increased knowledge and participation in the arts for the public benefit of people of all ages in Dawlish and district by providing public access to music, art, dance, drama, poetry and literature by professionals and gifted amateurs in which there will be experiential teaching and critiquing to develop individual capabilities, competences, skills and understanding.

We are completely dependant on volunteers and charitable donations to the Arts Festival. If you would like to volunteer or become a 'Friend', please contact us.

Note: From mid April our free programme will be available from: The Strand Community Centre, The Open DAW, Tourist Information Centres, Dawlish Library, Presents and Marine Stores on Exeter Road or you can search this site by genre or date.
