We are inviting residents in the Bay to give their views on proposals to build 101 new homes in Preston Down Road, Paignton.

The plans support our commitment to provide more housing in Torbay as featured in the Local Plan.

The site is earmarked for future residential development in the Torbay Local Plan 2012-2030 and the new development will provide 30% affordable housing which will be evenly split between social rent, affordable rent, and shared ownership. The social landlord will be TorVista Homes, a subsidiary of TDA.

We will be working with LHC Design (architects) to engage with local stakeholders.

TorVista’s vision is to provide good quality, affordable homes, for all sectors of our community.

The consultation launches on Friday 18 February and will conclude on Monday 28 February.

There is an online survey and there will also be a public exhibition at Paignton Library for anyone not able to access the online information. In addition, there will be an exhibition of the proposals taking place on Monday 28 February at Occombe Farm café and a chance to talk to a representative from the TDA from 3pm to 5pm.

Councillor Swithin Long, Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Tourism and Housing, said: “These proposed new homes would benefit young people and others wanting to get onto the housing ladder, providing much needed affordable housing for the area, and we want to hear your views on the plans.”
