Sunday 4 July 2021, is national Thank You Day and we want to say a big thank you to you all because over the last 15 months we couldn’t have got through it without each other. From family members to key workers, neighbours to volunteers, delivery drivers to teachers – we’ve all got somebody to say thank you to.

As we are gearing up for one of our busiest summer seasons we have ever had, we will be holding our Torbay wide celebration of volunteers and the community in September. So put Saturday 18 September in your diary and as soon as we have all the plans in place, we will share them.

Finally, to our staff – thank you! Whether you were emptying bins; keeping our parks, beaches and harbours clean and safe; running the shielding hub and talking to those isolated at home; preparing and distributing food parcels; working with those who found themselves without somewhere to live; supporting our businesses with grants; guiding those who provided childcare so they could stay open for key workers; providing support to those who worked with our adults and care homes; communicating all the messages; our Public Health Team who have worked hard keeping us all safe and so many more we could mention – thank you for everything you have done and are still doing alongside your day job, you are all appreciated! #ThankYouDay

Many thanks

Cllr Steve Darling, Leader of Torbay Council

Cllr Darren Cowell, Deputy Leader of Torbay Council

Anne-Marie Bond, Chief Executive
