We're opening our Bulky Waste Service run by TOR2 from Monday 11 May and bookings can now be made for a range of bulky items to be collected. This includes items such as beds, sofas, fridges, freezers and garden waste. A full list of bulky items that can be collected can be found by visiting our Bulky Waste page or by calling TOR2 on 01803 701316.

Those wishing to deal with green waste are encouraged to compost this material at home. More about composting can be found by visiting our composting web page

TOR2 is carrying out recycling and domestic waste collections from resident’s homes across Torbay within the normal pattern of collection for their area.

Mike Morey Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Environment and Culture said: “This is great news that Torbay Council is able to start the Bulky Waste service for residents. We would like to extend our thanks to residents for their patience in dealing with their waste at home, and are working hard to open up more services over the coming weeks.”

We have taken into account the latest government guidance regarding the opening of the Household Waste and Recycling Centre in Paignton and are planning to reopen soon, but on a much reduced basis to ensure that social distancing can be managed for both the safety of the operational staff and the residents who wish to make a visit. Pre-booking will be required before a visit to the Centre under the new guidance. Details of this will be released shortly.

Residents are encouraged to look at our website and social media for updates regarding the disposal of waste material.
