Sixteen local good causes have recently been successful in obtaining a small grant award from the Torbay Lottery Small Grants Fund.

Lottery Licence Holder Anne-Marie Bond said “The Torbay Lottery is a great initiative and it is superb that we are able to support local good causes and community groups in this way.”

A representative from Tissues and Issues said “We would like to say a huge thank to Torbay Lottery for the fantastic donation of £1,000. Tissues and Issues provide an invaluable free service to 550 Facebook members and over 40 regular attendees to the coffee mornings we run. Our coffee mornings are a chance for parents/grandparents/carers with children that have additional needs/disabilities, to come together to have a relaxed chat with parents/grandparents/carers in a similar situation. It’s a chance to meet new friends and your children to make new friends. Parents and carers gain support, understanding and 2 hour respite as well as practical advice and support fortnightly. We also provide free picnic days and activities so the kids can socialise and enjoy themselves in a judgement-free environment. This money will help keep us going and ensure we can help people for longer. Thank you so much. You can help support Tissues and Issues by signing up for the Torbay Lottery; you will also be in with a chance of winning a prize yourself in the weekly draw.”

The Torbay Lottery is a Council initiative, empowering local groups to generate vital funds in a fun and effective way, while enabling players to support the causes they care about the most.

127 causes have now signed up and the Torbay Lottery has raised almost £72,000 since it was launched in April 2017.

Draws take place every Saturday night. To be in with a chance to scoop up to £25,000, go to www.torbaylottery.co.uk and sign up today.
