Torbay’s Brass Band and the Rotary Club of Babbacombe & St Marychurch will once again be supporting the Bay’s annual Civic Carol Concert taking place on Tuesday 9 December at the Riviera International Conference Centre (RICC).

Starting at 7.30pm, with tickets costing only £3 including a programme, this extremely well attended event is open to everyone. A regular fixture in the Christmas calendar, the concert is a celebration of traditional and modern Christmas carols and other seasonal songs.

Chairman of Torbay’s Brass Band, David Wilkinson, said: “This event is special and unique in the Bay’s calendar. It is an event which for many is the start of the Christmas festivities and also raises much needed funds for the Chairman’s charity.

“A lot of hard work has been put into this event not only by ourselves but the Rotary Club and the council, and it would be great if the residents of Torbay could come and join us on the evening.”

Torbay Council’s Chairman, Jane Barnby, will welcome those attending the event and all proceeds raised by the evening will be donated to her chosen charities Devon in Sight and Disability Support Torbay.

Jane: “This is a lovely way to celebrate Christmas and a wonderful charity event. It is now firmly fixed in our festive calendar, and our thanks go to both organisations for their hard work to make it happen. Thanks also go to everyone participating, including the bands, choirs and performers - who all make this a special occasion.”

Leon Winston will be compering to ensure the evening runs smoothly, and a short seasonal message will be given by Rev Gillian Maude. Refreshments and mince pies will be available to purchase during the interval.

Event tickets will be available on the door but to secure a ticket in advance, please call the RICC on 01803 206333.
