Dance tunes and songs inspired by the many rich traditions of Europe and beyond, performed by mother-and-son duo Louis Bingham and Griselda Sanderson.
Highly regarded as individual stylists on their respective instruments, when they join forces the combinations of fretted, bowed and sympathetic strings colour their arrangements with a rich resonance. This creates a vivid soundscape echoing the broad span of their repertoire, which, inspired by the many rich traditions of Europe and beyond, reaches from Galicia to Norway, from Donegal to Piedmont, and many more places in between.
Louis plays fretted instruments such as the Celtic cittern, guitar, and Bulgarian tambura, as well as being an accomplished singer. Griselda plays bowed string instruments including the violin, the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle, and the Swedish nyckelharpa.
