County Recorders and keen amateur ecologists of Devon are invited to take part in the first BioBlitz in
the Churston Woods as part of the Churston Woods Revival Project.

We are looking for people to:

  • Lead a walk in a specialist subject
  • Help enter the records into iRecord

We also aim to:

  • Improve the woodland habitat
  • Enhance biodiversity
  • Encourage return of wildlife and place species once native to the area.

Churston Woods is located on the South Devon coast near the village of Churston Ferrers and is managed and cared for by Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust. The wood is in a small valley that runs down to Churston Cove. It is a haven for wildlife including, at the latest count, 204 species of flowering plant, animals and fungi and has considerable historical and social significance.
