Acquisition of land to support comprehensive regeneration

In order to deliver comprehensive regeneration of town centres, in accordance with adopted plans, the Council may need to acquire land to enable successful delivery.  It is proposed that the Council will identify specific sites that it wishes to acquire by various means including, if necessary, by compulsory purchase.

Consultation process

The community has been consulted on at the outset of the masterplan, local plan and neighbourhood plan making processes, through public meetings and other engagement events. Further meetings with invited neighbourhood plan and community partnership representatives alongside the business community have taken place about specific projects. Members will be briefed through meetings.
