First Hour Free Parking Union Street and Abbey Road
We the undersigned petition the council to Bring back parking on the full length of Union Street and make it first hour free on Union Street and Abbey Road. Reopen the section of Union Street between Market Street and the Post Office Roundabout for vehicles and parking on one side but retain the ability to close it for markets and events or during the summer months if required.
The ability to park fir free for one hour will encourage more people to come to the Union Street area of Torquay Town centre and spend money with the shops there. This will help start Union Street to build up business and encourage shops to return to the area and support the shops that are still there.
