To confirm as a correct record the Minutes of the meeting of this Committee held on 2 October 2018.

The Minutes of the meeting of the Investment and Regeneration Committee held on 2 October 2018 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

To consider passing a resolution to exclude the press and public from the meeting prior to consideration of the following items on the agenda on the grounds that exempt information (as defined in Paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) is likely to be disclosed.

Prior to consideration of the items in Minutes 179 to 181 the press and public were formally excluded from the meeting on the grounds that the items involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

To consider any new regeneration investment opportunities.

The Committee considered the submitted exempt report which provided an update in respect of Crossways in Paignton as outlined by Pat Steward and Alan Denby, TDA.

Resolved:

That the Assistant Director Business Services be requested to explore what level of subsidy would be required from the Council in order to bring forward a range of viable redevelopment schemes for the Crossways site and to bring these options back to the Investment and Regeneration Committee for consideration.

(Note 2:  Prior to consideration of this item Councillor O’Dwyer declared a pecuniary interest in respect of this item as he owns properties close to the site and withdrew from the meeting before a recommendation was proposed.)

Liam Montgomery, TDA, outlined the submitted exempt report on a potential investment opportunity which was not supported by the Committee.

The Committee received a verbal update in respect of current investments.
