Councillor Tyerman was appointed Chairman for the 2016/17 Municipal Year.

An apology for absence was received from Mayor Oliver.

To appoint a Vice-Chairman/woman of the Committee for the 2016/17 Municipal Year.

Councillor Thomas (J) was appointed Vice-Chairman for the 2016/17 Municipal Year.

Prior to consideration of the item in Minute 25 the press and public were formally excluded from the meeting on the grounds that the item involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

To discuss the Joint Commissioning Team posts and structure.

The Committee discussed the interim structure and reporting lines within the Joint Commissioning Team following the non appointment to the post of Director of People Services.

Resolved:

(i)           That the interim structure and reporting lines discussed at the meeting within the Joint Commissioning Team be agreed; and

(ii)          That the posts of Director of Adults Services and Director of Children’s Services be maintained at the present time and to seek to appoint to the post of Director of Children’s Services on a one year fixed term basis pending further review.  The Job Description and terms and conditions of the Director Children’s Services were agreed by the Committee.
