It was reported that, in accordance with the wishes of the Liberal Democrat Group, the membership of the Committee had been amended to include Councillor Penny in place of Councillor Law.

To confirm as a correct record the Minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 30 September 2024.

The Minutes of the meeting of the Employment Committee held on 30 September 2024 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

Prior to consideration of the item in Minute 12 the press and public were formally excluded from the meeting on the grounds that the item involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

To interview candidates for the role of Director of Adult and Community Services and to consider making an appointment to the role.

The Committee considered the merits of all the candidates who attended the interview panel on 15 October 2024 for the proposed recruitment for the post of Director of Adult and Community Services.

Resolved (unanimously):

That Anna Coles be appointed as Director of Adult and Community Services, with effect from 1 April 2025.
