The Licensing Sub-Committee noted that Notices had been returned by two members of the public.  One member of the public subsequently advised that he was unable to attend.  Members agreed it was in the public interest to continue with the hearing.

Decision:

 

That the application for a Premises Licence in respect of McDonalds Restaurant, Yalberton Road, Paignton be granted as applied for.

 

Reason for Decision:

 

Having carefully considered all the written and oral Representations, Members noted the concerns of the Interested Parties.  In doing so, they were satisfied by the oral Representation of the Applicant which demonstrated his responsive and responsible attitude in managing these premises and his intentions to address historic and future instances which may arise.  In addition, Members noted that there were no Representations made by either the Police or Environment Protection and that the Applicant had a record of working closely with the Police and Local Community to address issues as they arose.

The Applicant

Decision:

 

That the application for a Variation of a Licensed Premises Gaming Machine Permit for two premises, namely the Green Ginger, Winter Gardens, Fleet Walk Shopping Centre, Torquay and the London Inn, 15-16 The Strand, Torquay be granted as applied for.

 

Reason for Decision:

 

Having carefully considered the application and the written Representation by the Torbay Safeguarding Children Board, Members resolved to grant the licence having being reassured by the Applicant’s oral Representation and the Licensing Authority’s high confidence in the management of both the Green Ginger, The London Inn and JD Wetherspoon as a company.  In addition, confirmation was given of compliance with the Code of Practice, following Officers visits and meetings with the management.
