To consider an objection received to the advertised increase in the fees relating to the Torbay Council Drivers Licence, which is required to drive Hackney Carriages and Private Hire Vehicles.

The Committee considered a report on an objection received to the advertised increase in the fees relating to Torbay Council issued Drivers Licences, which are required to drive Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicles.

Mr Le Huray, Director of Torbay Taxis attended the meeting and outlined his representation.

Resolved:

That having carefully considered all the written and oral representations, Members were satisfied that the Council had complied with the legal requirements and best practice when setting its fees for Torbay Council issued Drivers Licences and that the proposed increase is reasonable, with a view to recovering the cost of issue and administration.

That the Council be recommended that the fees set for 2020/2021 in relation to Torbay Council Drivers Licence be agreed at the level advertised on 15 January 2020.
