Decision:
That the nationally prescribed increases to Marriage and Civil Partnership fees arising from the Registration of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Civil Partnerships (Fees) (Amendment and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2026 be adopted and take effect on 6 April 2026, replacing the local fees previously approved by Council for implementation from 1 April 2026.
Reasons for the decision:
To implement the revised national fees for Marriage and Civil Partnership Services, as required by the Registration of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Civil Partnerships (Fees) (Amendment and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2026 from 6 April 2026, thereby replacing the Registration fees previously approved by Council on 26 February 2026 for introduction on 1 April 2026.

Information:
The Registration of Births, Deaths, Marriages and Civic Partnerships (Fees) (Amendment and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2026 were laid in Parliament and will come into force on 6 April 2026. The new Regulations will increase civil registration fees for most Marriage and Civil Partnership services by 10%.
