That Off Street Amendment Order No4 2024 – Cockington Car Parks be approved.

The current traffic regulation order for the Cockington Car Parks was implemented on behalf of the TDA and contains conditions of use and parking charges specific to these locations. The TDA were brought back in house in April 2024 and the car parks in Cockington now need to be brought in line with Torbay Councils thirty-eight other chargeable off street parking places.

Not to amend the traffic regulation order in place, meaning the conditions of use would no longer be relevant given that the TDA has moved back in house to Torbay Council, and the charging structure in place would not be in line with our other off street parking places.

Parking Services are currently reviewing the signage within the car parks in Cockington and will be able to amend the tariffs once the traffic regulation order has been approved.

The proposals within this Order are to implement Torbay Councils Zone 2 pay and display parking charges and conditions of use at the three car parks in Cockington that are currently under a traffic regulation order originally implemented for the Torbay Development Agency (TDA).  The Amendment Order would bring the parking charges in line with Torbay Councils other Zone 2 off street parking places, as well the standard Torbay Council conditions of use. The three car parks in Cockington effected by the order are Cockington Village, Cockington Court Craft Centre, and Cockington Cycle Hub.

The charges in place will be:

Up to 4 hours                        £5.10

Up to 24 hours¹                    £9.40

¹ 24 hour tariff includes the 7 hour period when charges do not apply.
