Capital Plan Updates - May 2025
Decision Maker: Director of Finance
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Decision:
That the Mayfield Relocation project budget be increased from £70,000 to £100,000 from the ringfenced Higher Needs SEND capital allocations, to enable the project to progress and capture necessary condition works required for imminent occupation.
Reasons for the decision:
An additional requirement of £20,000 for replacement of the current boiler has been identified which is needed to enable the site to be occupied in September. Additionally, to maintain the project programme, a package of £10,000 enabling works has been identified.
The project is deemed to be strategically advantageous and satisfactorily compliant in terms of feasibility and levels of risk to enable it to progress with the increased scope of works.
Alternative options considered:
Approval of this decision enables the project to progress within a controlled process, minimising the pressures on the repairs and maintenance budget and maximising the effective spend of the DfE capital allocations.
Implementation:
This decision will be implemented immediately.
