Decision:

that the Cabinet works with the Group Leaders to explore how Ward Councillors can add value in the community by engaging with residents to raise awareness of climate change and encouraging increased take up of recycling.

The Cabinet are required to respond to a report of the Overview the Scrutiny Board.

Implementation:

This decision will come into force and may be implemented on 12 October 2020 unless the call-in procedure is triggered (as set out in the Standing Orders in relation to Overview and Scrutiny).

Information:

The Cabinet received the report of the Overview and Scrutiny Board.  On the 16 September the Overview and Scrutiny received an update on the development of the revised Climate Change Strategy.  The Board discussed how Members could work with their communities to make a difference to support climate change initiatives in the short term, whilst the Climate Change Strategy was being developed.

 

Councillor Morey proposed and Councillor Carter seconded a motion that was unanimously agreed by the Cabinet, as set out above.
