To launch the public consultation for the Corporate Parenting Strategy.
Reasons for the decision:
Torbay Council’s existing ‘Corporate Parenting Strategy 2022 – 2025’ is due to expire this year and as such, a new strategy is being developed. To ensure the development of a comprehensive and inclusive Corporate Parenting Strategy, we will undertake a consultation process to inform and influence the Strategy which will then be placed before Cabinet in December 2025 and subsequently full Council in December 2025.

At the Cabinet meeting held on 16 September 2025, the Cabinet delegated authority to the Director of Children’s Services to launch the public consultation to inform the development of the new Corporate Parenting Strategy. The consultation has now been launched.
