To provide a strategic lead in the protection, conservation and enhancement of the South Devon AONB.

To prepare, monitor and review the AONB Management Plan on behalf of the Local Authorities responsible.

To co-ordinate the implementation of the AONB Management Plan.

To promote the distinctive qualities and national status of the AONB designation.

To secure the core priorities of the Partnership members in the South Devon AONB.

The Partnership provides a framework where the Council can meet its statutory obligations towards the AONB, in particular for the production of the AONB Management Plan.

The Partnership Committee is a permanent non-statutory committee.
