The Minutes of the meeting of the Policy Development and Decision Group (Joint Operations Team) held on 29 March 2017 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

To consider a report that sets out a Vision/Place Narrative for Torbay.

The Policy Development and Decision Group (Joint Operations Team) made the following recommendations to the Mayor:

That the Mayor be recommended to recommend to Council:

(i)       that the partners within the Strategic Partnership be thanked for producing the Future Torbay;

(ii)      that subject to the title being changed to 'Future Torbay' and page 15 Our challenges, being changed to read 'which this document seeks to address' the Strategic Partnership’s Vision for Torbay as set out at Appendix 1 to the submitted report be adopted as part of the Council’s Policy Framework within the Corporate Plan; and

(iii)      that the Introduction to the Council’s Corporate Plan be amended to include the following additional paragraph:

“Partners across Torbay have come together to develop “Future Torbay” which is a long term high level plan and vision with a compelling narrative articulating the ambitions for Torbay’s future.   This Corporate Plan will provide the framework by which the Council delivers its elements of Future Torbay.”

The Mayor considered the recommendations of the Policy Development and Decision Group (Joint Operations Team) set out above at the meeting and his decision, together with further information is attached to these Minutes.
