It was reported, that in accordance with the wishes of the Conservative Group, the membership of the Committee had been amended for this meeting by including Councillor Bye instead of Councillor Thomas (D).

To confirm as a correct record the Minutes of the meeting of this Committee held on 24 July 2018.

The Minutes of the meeting of the Investment and Regeneration Committee held on 24 July 2018 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

To consider the submitted report on the above.

On 19 July 2018 Council approved a motion objecting to the current Investment and Regeneration Fund Strategy.  The Elected Mayor in his response to the objection stated that he disagreed with the objections to the Strategy as he believed it was not clear what was intended to be reviewed in terms of the financial implications of the issues raised in the objections.  On the basis of the Elected Mayor’s response, the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Investment and Regeneration Committee had worked with Officers in order to revise the existing strategy for consideration by the Committee.

Members provided further amendments and in order for the revised strategy to be presented to Council on 20 September agreed to the Director of Corporate Services making the required changes.

Resolved:

That authority be delegated to the Director of Corporate Services in consultation with the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Investment and Regeneration Committee to amend and approve the final version of the Investment and Regeneration Fund Strategy.
