To implement the parking restrictions contained within the above Order, with the exception of amendments relating to Nelson Road and Horsepool Street due to further amendments being required in light of objections received.

The proposals in this Order are to assist with road safety and traffic flow at several junction points on Cumber Drive, Holborn Road, Penpethy Road, The Close, Nelson Road and Horsepool Street, Brixham.

The proposals were advertised in a Public Notice in the Herald Express on 4th September 2024, a consultation period of 21 days was provided for members of the public to submit any objections to the proposals, notices were also placed out on site.

Two objections were received in response to proposals relating to the addition of a length of “no waiting at any time” on Nelson Road, and “no loading at any time” along Horsepool Street.  In light of these objections, the order has been modified so that proposals relating to Horsepool Street and Nelson Road will be removed, amended in accordance with the objections raised, and re-advertised under a separate order.

No objections were received regarding any of the other proposals.

The alternative was not to proceed with the changes to the parking restrictions.

Highways will instruct implementation of the required markings and signage.

Proposals to add “no waiting at any time” restrictions at junction points on the following roads in Brixham:

·         Cumber Drive, Holborn Road, Penpethy Road, The Close.

The proposals are detailed within the “Borough of Torbay (Various Streets, Paignton) (Control of Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Amendment Order No1 2024”.
