Decision:
That £600,000 of Future High Street Funding be allocated to the capital project to restore Paignton Picture House.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council took a decision on the 5 December 2024 to award a further £900,000 of Future High Streets Funding to the project to restore Paignton Picture House. This first tranche of funding (£600,000 of the £900,000) was necessary to provide sufficient funding for the first three months of costs for the main restoration works.
Alternative options considered:
No alternatives were considered as none would have given surety that the capital project could commence in January 2025 to meet the programme for restoration.
Implementation:
This decision will be implemented on 23 December 2024.
Information:
In order to facilitate starting the main restoration works on Paignton Picture House in January 2025 and thereby meeting the programme for restoration, an allocation of the capital funding identified by Council on 5 December 2024 was required.
