Decision:
The financial support to the Torbay Food Alliance including food banks and social supermarkets is increased this year by a further £166,400 to alleviate immediate funding pressures.
Reasons for the decision:
To meet the grant restrictions and prioritise addressing hunger, poverty and housing cost pressures in Torbay.

Guidance was issued on 26 March 2024 and a 6-month funding package from 1 April 2024 of £1,235,356.81 was provided for Torbay.
The guidance states that the fund can be used to provide support with food, essentials linked to energy and water, wider essentials, and housing costs not covered by other schemes. In terms of type of support, it suggests that authorities should prioritise supporting households with the cost of energy.
Following a review of spend to date, sufficient budget remains available to
provide additional support to Torbay Food Alliance prior to the end of the current scheme.
