Decision:

That the Council being the sole Member of the Torbay Economic Development Company, approve the appointment of the following persons as Directors of the TorVista Board;

Appointments:

· Jill Gregg

· Rick Williams

Reasons for the decision:

To formalise the appointments of two new Directors to the TorVista Board.

This decision will come into force immediately.

Information:

Torbay Council, as sole member of the Torbay Economic Development Company, which trades as TDA, is required to approve appointments of all Directors, including for subsidiary companies. The Chief Executive of Torbay Council has delegated authority to determine all appointments to outside bodies (outside of those appointment by Council following elections), in consultation with the Leader of the Council and Group Leaders. As the Chief Executive of Torbay Council is also the Chief Executive of the TDA it is proposed that the Director of Corporate Services approves, on behalf of Torbay Council, the appointment of Jill Gregg and Rick Williams as Directors of the TorVista Board as recommended following interviews.

The Group Leaders were consulted on 20 February 2020.
