Amendment and Increase to Standard Building Regulations fees and Charges effective from 1 December 2019

Decision:
(i) that separate Building Notice fee be introduced for certain types of building controlled work as set out in Appendix 1 to this Record of Decision. The introduction of a Building Notice fee reflects predominantly the type of work carried out on domestic properties where the homeowner chooses not to submit full plans prepared by architectural agents; and
(ii) that standard charges for other types of domestic building control work has also been increased, as set out in Appendix 1 to this Record of Decision.
Reasons for the decision:
Local Authority Building Control Service are required to set a scheme of charges for functions prescribed in the Building (Local Authority Charges) Regulations 2010 to recover costs for providing that function.

These fees will come into force from 1 December 2019.

The proposal seeks to agree the amendment and increase to the Building Regulations standard fees and charges with affect from the 1 December 2019 in order to recover the actual costs for providing this function.
