Resource and Waste Management Strategy

Q1 Do you believe that this Strategy shows Torbay Council's commitment to addressing the Climate Emergency?

In December 2018, the Government published “Our Waste, Our Resources:  A Strategy for England”.  This sets out how the Government plans to double resource productivity and eliminate avoidable waste of all kinds (including plastic waste) by 2050.  It provides details of the way we will:

●   preserve our stock of material resources by minimising waste, promoting resource efficiency and moving towards a circular economy

●   minimise the damage caused to our natural environment by reducing and managing waste safely and carefully

●   deal with waste crime

The Government strategy can be viewed online at:  https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/resources-and-waste-strategy-for-england
