Torbay SEN Capital Funding Consultation

All local Authorities must ensure that there are sufficient good school places for all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and disabilities.  To support this duty the Government has awarded SEN Capital Funding specifically for the creation and improvement of specialist provision for children and young people with these needs.

As an authority, Torbay aspires to create a well-planned continuum of provision from birth to age 25 that meets the needs of children and young people with SEN and disabilities.  Therefore, following a review of current provision and demand, the authority has identified four areas the SEN Capital Funding could be invested in.  These are outlined in the document below.

This consultation is an opportunity for children and young people with SEN and disabilities, their families and providers to consider what is being proposed and feedback their views.  Responses received will then be used to help inform decision making on how the funding will be allocated.

The consultation will end on 31st January 2018

Please read the SEN Capital Funding Consultation Paper, which can be found by clicking on 'Supporting Documents' in the centre of the green line below, before answering the questions. Clicking on it will open the Consultation Paper in a new window so that you do not lose your access to this survey.

Please read each question and indicate your preferred response by ticking the relevant box. Your comments are also welcome and space has been provided after each question for this purpose. If you require this questionnaire in a different format please phone 01803 208260.
