Holding COVID-19 safe events

Find out what you can do to make sure your event is COVID-19 safe.

As we learn to live safely with COVID-19, the following information will help event organisers to understand how to reduce the spread of respiratory infections, such as COVID-19, at their events.

First things to consider:

  • Is it the right time to hold the event? What are the local case rates?
  • What is the current national guidance? This can change so keep checking the links below.
  • Outdoors is safer than indoors. If you’re meeting indoors, is the venue large enough and does it have good ventilation?
  • Who are the intended participants? Are they in risk groups?
  • Carry out a risk assessment and follow the reducing the spread of respiratory infections guidance below.
  • Don’t forget:
  • Hands

  • Face

  • Space

  • Ventilate
