When a request is made to prune a tree/or trees which are owned by the Council, each case is assessed on its individual merits.

Torbay Council, unfortunately, does not have unlimited resources, and budget pressures mean that we are unable to carry out all works as quickly as we would like to.

However, the Council does realise that in many cases the problems of nuisance brought to it are of a real concern to the enquirer, and in such cases the enquirer may wish to pursue this privately at their own expense.  We therefore have a Permit to Work scheme where we grant permission for works to be carried out to the Council’s trees.
