This team are responsible for the coproduction of Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs plans for children and young people 0-25 with SEND. <br><br>The successful candidate will work with parent/carers and young people with SEND, education providers, health and social care colleagues to ensure a quality EHCP. Your role is to interpret and collaborate assessments of others and write into a plan in a restorative manner, to champion the child or young person and work in co-produced way. <br><br>Experience of working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families and a good working knowledge of current SEND-related legislation and the SEND Code of Practice will be essential. Knowledge of EHCP’s as documents will be mandatory and a key task will be ensuring that statutory timescales are met.<br><br>Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be essential, as will the ability to build and maintain strong and positive working relationships with families, schools and a<br>range of other professionals. <br><br>The role requires confident use of case management systems and digital tools to record, track, and manage cases, maintain accurate data, and support service reporting and performance monitoring. You will use your organisational skills to prioritise a busy caseload, ensuring timely communication and compliance with statutory duties. <br><br>There are two positions available for this role. This is primarily a term-time-only position. As a Passenger Assistant, you would typically be required to be available from around 7.15am/7.30am to 9.15am/9.30am and 2.15pm/2.30pm to 4.30pm/4.45pm, Monday to Friday, to support school transport runs throughout the Bay.<br><br>You will usually be picked up from and dropped off at your home by the transport provided (bus or taxi) when undertaking Passenger Assistant duties. You will need to be flexible, dedicated and sensitive to the individual needs of the children, providing reassurance and practical support. You will communicate effectively with parents/carers, the Home to School Transport Team, school representatives and drivers to ensure the safety of the children and the smooth running of each route.<br><br>In addition to core Passenger Assistant duties, the role also includes supporting children and young people to develop the skills needed to travel as independently as possible through Independent Travel Training (ITT). No previous experience is required as full training will be given, but previous experience in parking or traffic management, security, community safety, customer service, debt collection or enforcement would be beneficial.</div><div><!--block--><br></div><div><!--block-->You’ll be working as part of a friendly and supportive team, working an average of 37 hours per week on a rolling rota covering shifts between 7am and 10pm seven days a week. We aim to balance your needs and that of our service, so flexibility is required.<br><br></div><div><!--block--><strong>What we give in return<br></strong><br></div><div><!--block-->We’ll reward you with competitive pay, a £500 ‘Golden Hello’ payment, a £2,000 ‘Retention’ payment paid annually, and £500 ‘Refer a Friend’ payments. We also offer training and development opportunities which include Conflict Management training. The £500 'Golden Hello' payment is paid on completion of the successful probationary period, and a £1,000 Retention bonus is paid every 6 months after the first 12 months within the role.&nbsp;<br><br>In addition to the advertised, salary enhancements are paid for working after 8pm, and on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
