TESH (Torbay End Street Homelessness) is a campaign which now has a group of organisations signed up to it, who are working together using their varying experiences and expertise to find solutions to street homelessness in Torbay. They are not a registered charity and have no direct funding for campaign work. Each organisation works alongside the services that are paid for.
TESH now have a telephone number that anyone who is concerned about a rough sleeper can use so that they can receive help. The number is 01803 217890 and is available 24 hrs a day. Information received is passed to the outreach team and followed up. You can volunteer with TESH to help support individuals in accommodation, or to take part with the annual connections week. If you would like to find out more about the campaign and get involved contact Julie Bakewell.
TESH campaign partners include us, Shekinah (who run the Leonard Stocks Centre, Endeavour House and Growing for Life), Westward Housing and many other voluntary organisations such as PATH Torbay, the Street Pastors and Friends of Factory Row, to name a few. It is also supported by our local Police.
The Torbay End Street Homelessness Campaign is part of a wider European campaign to end street homelessness which includes cities such as Brighton, Glasgow, Brussels and Barcelona.
