The BFG in Pictures is the first major exhibition of artwork by Quentin Blake for Roald Dahl's enduring tale.

The BFG, the story of orphan Sophie and her giant friend was first published in 1982. It has remained in print ever since, selling more than 50 million copies. Its a story of dream-catching and friendship, its won international critical acclaim and was the subject of a major feature film by Steve Spielberg in 2016.

The BFG represents a unique moment in Blake and Dahl's working life. Dahl first told the story of the BFG to his children and named Sophie after his granddaughter. He described the story as the favourite of his own works.

When Blake first completed the illustrations for the book Dahl (unusually) rejected them. Blake embarked on a second set in dialogue with Dahl. The published illustrations are the result of their closest collaboration.
