We are committed to managing and reducing the greenhouse gas emissions that are generated as a result of the energy and fuel it uses to deliver services.
The main uses of energy and fuel we have are for heating and powering council buildings and schools, lighting 30,000 streetlights across Torbay, fuelling council owned vehicles and travel whilst at work.
We are monitoring, and taking action to reduce the environmental impact of service delivery and operations. To support this we have developed an Energy and Climate Change Strategy, Environmental Policy Statement and a Green Staff Travel Plan. At the request of the Department of Energy and Climate Change we have been tasked with producing an annual greenhouse gas emissions report.
21759This report describes the emissions arising from the activities of Torbay Council.
