Understanding our performance and managing risk effectively means the organisation is better able to achieve the ambitions set out in the Corporate Plan. At a time of increasing budgetary pressures and demand for services, being able to do this effectively is critical in ensuring the council can not only deliver services within its budget, but deliver services which are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the community.

We have designed and produced a report with a series of performance indicators which align to the Corporate Plan and outline how well the council is performing against its key priorities. These performance indicators are monitored within a series of ‘dashboards’, one for each theme within the Corporate Plan and one to monitor corporate performance. The themes/dashboards are:

  • Protecting all children and giving them the best start in life
  • Prosperous Torbay
  • Promoting healthy lifestyles
  • An attractive and safe place
  • Protecting vulnerable adults
  • Running an efficient Council

This report is used by our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and is presented to the Audit Committee for public scrutiny.

This report enables SLT to review and challenge our performance on a regular basis and identify any improvement actions required. The performance indicators listed within this report may be exchanged for others as priorities and demand changes.
