We support a collection of third party packages as well as a number of in-house developed solutions, primarily in a Microsoft Windows environment. These cover the full range from public-facing web applications to back-office desktop solutions.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced candidate equally comfortable in application development as well as the day to day support of existing solutions. You will be capable of working under pressure and managing a range of activities.

Good C# knowledge is essential, ideally coupled with experience of one or more of the following: Visual Studio, WPF, WinForms and MS SQL.

The successful candidate will also have experience of supporting business applications based on either MS SQL Server or Oracle database platforms.

About the role

Our Civil Enforcement Officers enforce road traffic orders by issuing Penalty Charge Notices, and are the eyes and ears of the local community, patrolling areas whilst wearing a body worn video, providing advice to residents, and members of the public. You will play a significant role in reducing traffic congestion within Torbay through the enforcement of parking restrictions.

What you’ll be doing

Your day will be spent mostly outside, in all weathers, walking up to 10 miles per day, so please consider this before you apply. You will be dealing with members of the public face to face, so customer service must be something you enjoy, sometimes in difficult situations. Be friendly, polite, and willing to offer support, advice and assistance to colleagues and customers.

What you’ll bring

This is a new role, for a fixed term of two years, with key responsibilities to:

  1. Reduce the number of people with a learning disability and/or autism, and challenging behaviour who are currently in hospital settings, by identifying individuals ready for hospital discharge
  2. Write funding bids for capital funds, including NHSE to support the development and completion of bespoke housing projects
  3. Embed learning, skills and tools across the current system to manage development projects including partnering with planners, housing developers and providers
  4. Drive and achieve a health and care market shift and to support a community-led model.
  5. Contribute to learning and good practice in order to ensure that people a learning disability and/or autism, and challenging behaviour are only admitted to hospital settings if they have a clear need and for the shortest time possible

Whilst hosted by us, the post holder will work closely with Devon CCG commissioning managers and have the opportunity to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders including;
